"New Face- Part II "

[sub]NOVA regret to announce the departure of guitarist Oliver Thompson.

After recently completing his PhD, Olly received a job offer from an American university which was ultimately too good to turn down. He played his last gig with [sub]NOVA on 1st November 2008 and flew out to his new life in San Francisco a few days later.

He leaves with our very best wishes and it goes without saying that he will be sadly missed by all of us.

The band have already recruited a replacement guitarist, and new man Tom Gratton will play his first show with the band at the show on 15th November at The Casbah - Sheffield.

"New Deals for the Sub's"

[sub]NOVA have had yet another company show their support and join the [sub]NOVA team, the company 66 WEST plan to use Tom,Dario & Matt in their advertising campaigns for their new range of cabs for both bass and guitar. The cabs themselves handbuilt and crafted to a very high standard will be out on the road and in the studio with the guys from mid '08

The guys say " they just perform amazingly both live and in the studio, they just take every thing we throw at them and still come back for more...and they look cool!

" Live new tracks"

There's the first of many live tracks up on the bands myspace site (see links page)

Six tracks in total will be released via myspace, recorded at various venues and festivals throughout the summer of 2007.

The first of the tracks to be available is the epic Arms Wide Open, also some limited addition acoustic tracks will be up for a short time to download....don't waste time listen to them now and leave us a comment on our guestbook with you thoughts.

The band have been using these strings consistently now for many years, and appreciate ERNIE BALL's commitment to work with [sub]NOVA over the coming years.


[sub]NOVA typically use 'Skinny Top, Heavy Bottom' strings, providing the low end grunt required for their trademark rock sound, whilst providing clarity and ring in solos and clean passages.

"Pray for sun"

It has been announced over the last couple of days that [sub]NOVA are to play at the prestigious "Clarence Park Festival" This is a weekend long event with multiple live stages held in Wakefield/Leeds. Thousands of people attend the festival each year, and year on year the festival has grown from strength to strength.

[sub]NOVA will take to the stage at 3.40pm on Sunday afternoon for what promises to be yet another blistering set from the Sheffield group.

[sub]NOVA were hand picked by the festival organizers to take part in the show beating off hundreds of rivals from across the UK and Europe to secure their place in this years festivities.

The Festival is a testament to the hard work and dedication of "The Wakefield Music Collective" who have worked hard all year to bring live music free of charge into the public arena.
